Hornet Club Giving Methods
Cash, Check, or Credit Card
The most common way to give is by cash, checks (made payable to the The University Foundation at Sacramento State), or by Visa or MasterCard.
Many corporations will match employee gift contributions to charitable institutions. Consult your company's benefits office for details.
Endowments are an excellent way to ensure the continued support of Sacramento State athletics. Each year the earned interest is used to pay scholarships while the principal is reinvested. An endowed scholarship can be in your name or the name of a loved one. You can also designate which specific program you want to support or contribute to existing endowments.
Contributions of product, merchandise, equipment or services are often provided in support of the Athletic Department. Gift-in-kind contributions must receive prior approval from the Hornet Club and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Gifts made through wills and revocable trusts are often directed to the permanent endowment of the athletic department. This is a high priority since it provides a permanent source of financial support and a strong base for Sacramento State growth.
Your bequest may be unrestricted to athletics - to be used at the discretion of the department for the highest priorities - or you may designate it for a specific sport scholarship or program. Your gift may be made in your name or to memorialize a loved one. For further information, contact Missy Matzen at (916) 278-4263.
Gift of Stock/Security
Appreciated securities and stock as well as real estate can be accepted with prior approval from the Sacramento State Athletic Department.
