Federated Insurance Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week, Sept. 4-10

Dre Terrell was named the Federated Insurance Sacramento State Student-Athelte of the Week after his record-tying performance in the team's win over Incarnate Word. Terrell had three interceptions in the first half of the game to lead a Hornet defense which recorded five turnovers. The junior was also led the Hornets with six tackles and was named the FCS national and Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week.

Terrell became the fifth player in school history to record three interceptions in a game and the first since 2004. His first interception came on a diving over-the-shoulder catch on a 47-yard pass attempt down the middle of the field late in the first quarter. He jumped a route along the sideline and returned it 20-yards early in the second quarter for his second pick. However, the third one was the most thrilling as he made a swiping one-handed, full-extention catch at the 1-yard line with 17 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Elk Grove, Calif., native now has four interceptions in just two games this year after not recording one in his previous two seasons. He is the only player in the FCS to have more than two interceptions this season and is the first Hornet to have four interceptions in a year since Zach Schrader had four in 2009.
