Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week (Dec. 10-16)
Senior guard Marcus Graves has been selected as Sacramento State’s Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Hornets to a 2-0 record. The team co-captain averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 65% (13-20) from the field, and 3-for-3 from both the 3-point line and free throw line. Graves started both games and helped the Hornets to lopsided wins in each contest.
In an 81-56 win over Holy Names, Graves had a double-double with 14 points, 10 assists, three rebounds and four steals in 36 minutes. He followed up that effort against Westcliff with 18 points and five rebounds while shooting 6-for-6 from the field, which included burying all three of his 3-point attempts.
The Hornets’ current 6-2 record matches the team’s best eight-game start in school history.
