WOMEN FINISH THIRD AT NEVADA CHASE RACE

Breanna Lewis led Sacramento State at the Nevada Chase Race.

RENO, Nev. —
 Breanna Lewis finished sixth to lead the Sacramento State women's cross country team at the Nevada Chase Race on Saturday in Reno, Nev. Lewis ran 20:55 while averaging 6:45 per mile.

As a team, the Hornets finished third with 58 points. Utah easily won the team title as the Utes accounted for the top four finishers and scored 19 points. Host Nevada was second with 47.

Sacramento State was also represented by freshman Veronica Stinnett who finished 10th with a time of 21:25. Justine ReaDominique Ratto and Jenni Eiremo each finished in succession, finishing 13th-15th. Rea ran 21:37. Ratto crossed the line in 22:02 and Eiremo clocked a time of 22:09. Krystal Buck completed the team with a time of 23:19 to finish 19th.

Amanda Mergaert of Utah ran 19:36 for the best individual time.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Willow Hills Cross Country Open in Folsom, Calif., on Oct. 9.
