GROSE AND WALLACE LEAD CROSS COUNTRY AT STANFORD INVITATIONAL

 STANFORD, Calif. — Scott Grose finished 22nd overall to lead the men and Lea Wallace was 44th for the top time on the women's team as Sacramento State competed in the annual Stanford Invitational on Saturday.
As a team, the Hornet men finished 14th out of 18 teams while the women were 10th out of 22.
Grose ran 24:51 over the 8K course to easily post the best time for the men. He was followed by Chris Romo who ran 26:04 to place 91st. Jason Sey crossed the line in 26:19 to finish 108th and Nathanael Litwiller ran 26:29 to place 117th. The team also counted the time of Daniel Mitchell who ran 26:32 to place 119th. David Rabinowitz (26:38, 126th), Kyle Lackner (27:40, 150th), Cameron Mitchell (27:40, 151st) and Matt Case (28:18, 157th) completed the lineup.
Stanford won the men's team title with the minimum 15 points. The Cardinal had the top five finishers, including four who all ran 23:54. Chris Derrick was awarded the individual title.
The women had six runners place among the top 75. Wallace ran 22:09 and was under two minutes off the winning time of Tara Erdmann. Renisha Robinson recorded a time of 22:29 to place 62nd and Kristina Holtz was close behind in 22:36 to finish 66th. Jenni Eiremo was 71st overall in 22:47 while Rachel Mitchell ran 22:48 to finish 73rd. The team also competed Caprice Bradshaw (22:49, 75th), Erin Lewis (23:22, 103rd), Mary O'Reilly (23:39, 123rd), Ashley Chavez (24:34, 154th) and Krystal Buck (25:29, 168th).
Stanford also won the women's team title. The Cardinal tallied 24 points to easily finish ahead of second place Cal (100).
