HOLTZ AND VOGL LEAD WOMEN'S AND MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TO SECOND PLACE FINISHES AT INVITATIONAL

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - BYU had the top six finishes in the men's 8K and San Francisco used six top 10 finishes in the women's 5K to claim their respective team titles at the Sacramento State Invitational on Saturday morning at Granite Regional Park.

Both the Sacramento State men's and women's teams finished second.

BYU's Chandler Goodwin led the pack in the men's race with a time of 24:38.

Sacramento State's Dominic Vogl was the first Hornet to cross the finish line with a time of 25:10 and an eighth place finish. The Hornets' Colin Szehner also finished in the top 20 with a time of 25:35 and a 14th place finish. Daniel Carlson (25:53, 17th), Jose Garcia (25:58, 18th), Jason Sey (26:40, 23rd) and Garrett Infausto (26:45, 24th) finished the lineup for Sacramento State.

San Francisco men's team took third place followed by Notre Dame de Namur.

On the women's side, Sacramento State's Kristina Holtz finished second with a time of 18:49. San Francisco had six runners finish in the top 10, led by Jennifer Hartford, who was the first runner to cross the finish line with a time of 18:30.

Sacramento State's Erin Wachter recorded a time of 19:18 for an 11th place finish, while Kathryn Cunningham finished 16th (19:36) and Grecia Garcia(19:57) placed 18th.

Fresno State finished third, while Nevada took fourth place.
