Prior to Sacramento State: Spent two years at Hartnell JC where he ran track and cross country…was the Coast Conference steeplechase champion as a freshman…finished first in the league cross country meet that same year…holds the school record in cross country.

High School: A 2004 graduate of North Monterey County HS in Castroville, Calif…competed in four years of cross country and track…helped the cross country team to a pair of Monterey Bay League titles and one Central Coast Section crown.
