LEWIS, MUGNAINI AND BYERS COMPETE AT USA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Three Sacramento State freshmen competed at the USA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in San Diego.

The women were represented by Breanna Lewis and Laura Mugnaini in the junior division. Lewis ran 23:37 to finish in 23rd place while Mugnaini ran 23:41 to place 25th.

Reesey Byers was the lone representative in the men's 8K race. Byers finished 39th with a time of 26:30.

Erik Olson of Novato, Calif., won the men's race with a time of 24:48. The women's junior race went to Aisling Cuffe of New York who ran 21:13.
