DUNCAN, CHANGCO LEAD CROSS COUNTRY AT BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIPS

GREELEY, Colo. -- Cagnei Duncan finished 12th overall in the women's race and Elijah Changco was 35th in the men's race to lead the Sacramento State women's and men's cross country teams at the Big Sky Championships on Saturday. The Hornet women finished in ninth place while the men were 10th.

Northern Arizona swept the team titles. The NAU women totaled 36 points and were followed by Idaho (90), Southern Utah (93) and Weber State (94) in the top four. The men, which are ranked first nationally, recorded 24 points with Weber State second with 40.

Duncan ran 18:49.5 which left her over one minute behind Camila Noe of Montana State who won the women's race in 17:41.3. Rachel Victor ranked second on the team in 19:41.0 to place 35th overall. Sacramento State also counted times from Blayney Dolan (50th, 20:08.6), Rosemary David (54th, 20:24.5) and Rosemary David (66th, 20:54.5).

In the men's race, Chango ran 28:38.6 over the 8K course. Northern Arizona had the three top finishers, led by Drew Bosley in 26:50.8. Tristen Thomson had the second best time for the Sacramento State in 29:10.3 to place 52nd overall. Shane Marshall was 59th in 29:29.6, Santiago Ruiz ran 30:54.3 to place 76th and Abraham Maldonaldo was 81st in 31:59.4.

Sacramento State will next compete at the NCAA West Regional on Friday, Nov. 15, in Pullman, Wash.
