MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY EARNS NATIONAL ACADEMIC HONOR

NEW ORLEANS — For the fourth consecutive season, the Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams were each recognized for their academic performances by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) To be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative gpa of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at an NCAA regional.

The Hornet women posted a team cummulative gpa of 3.42 to earn the award. The men compiled a gpa of 3.18. Sacramento State was one of seven Big Sky Conference schools to win the award in both genders.

Earlier this month, the Hornets had seven women and two men earn academic all-Big Sky honors. The women were represented by Rosemary David, Blayney Dolan, Alysia Foley, Jaclyn Leduc, Amelia Pear, Amy Quinones and Rachel Victory. The men had Shane Marshall and Tristen Thomson earn the honor.
