MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY EARN USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC AWARDS

NEW ORLEANS — For the third consecutive season, the Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams were each recognized for their academic performances by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) To be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative gpa of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at an NCAA regional.

The Hornet women posted a team cummulative gpa of 3.35 to earn the award. The men compiled a gpa of 3.23. Sacramento State was one of six Big Sky Conference schools to win the award in both genders.

Earlier this month, the Hornets had six women and three men earn academic all-Big Sky honors. The women were represented by Gracie Albano, Cagnei Duncan, Amelia Pear, Qmy Quinones, Sara Stevens and Rachel Victor. The men had Ryan Salcido, Sammy Scheuer and Tristen Thomson earn the honor.
