WOMEN'S AND MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS EARN USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC AWARDS

NEW ORLEANS — The Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams were each recognized for their academic performances by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) To be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative gpa of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at an NCAA regional.

The Hornet women posted a team cummulative gpa of 3.44 to earn the award. The men compiled a gpa of 3.03. Sacramento State was one of 10 Big Sky Conference schools to win the award in both genders.

in January, the Hornets had five women and two men earn academic all-Big Sky honors. The women's list was comprised of Gracie Albano, Emma Armstrong, Jocelyn Orozco, Amelia Pear and Amy Quinones. The men's honorees were Ryan Salcido and Sam Scheuer.
