MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY EARNS NATIONAL ACADEMIC AWARD

NEW ORLEANS — The Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams were each recognized for their academic performances by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) To be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative gpa of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at an NCAA regional.

The Hornet men posted a team cummulative gpa of 3.103 to earn the award. The women compiled a gpa of 3.046. Sacramento State was one of six Big Sky Conference schools to win the award in both genders.

in January, the Hornets had five men and six women earn academic all-Big Sky honors. The men's list was comprised of Sam Scheuer, Ryan Salcido, Miles Engdow, Jorge Garcia and Ricardo Avila. The woe were represented by Emma Armstrong, Gracie Albano, Amy Quinones, Emily Johnston, Haley Heinemann and Chloe Berlioux.
