DAVIS, Calif. —
Freshman Annette Acosta finished second to lead a small contingent of Sacramento State student-athletes at the Doc Adams Open on Saturday at the Putah Creek Reserve Course.

Acosta completed the 6K women's race in 23:00 and was just six seconds off the time of Hannah Dorman who was the individual winner. Adrianna Royal was fifth overall after running 24:01 to rank second among the Hornets. Lizette Gonzalez completed the women's competitors with a time of 24:37 to place 10th.

Three Hornets competed in the men's 8K race led by Sam Scheuer. The freshman ran 25:40 to place 12th overall. Eric Molina was 10 seconds back and finished 14th. Edwardo Vasquez crossed the line in 27th place with a time of 26:37.

The men's race was won by Thomas Graham in 23:47.

Sacramento State will complete its season on Friday at the NCAA West Regional at Stanford.
