2007 Season: Appeared in 36 matches, including four starts...most of her time was spent at defensive specialist, but also at setter when the team runs a 6-2 offense...averaged 1.68 digs and 1.00 assists per game to go along with a .231 hitting percentage...had 26 aces compared to just 13 service aces...had at least two aces in eight separate matches...tallied season highs of 10 digs against both Ole Miss and Illinois State...also had 16 assists vs. Illinois State for her first double-double of the season...a Big Sky All-Academic selection.
2006 Season
Appeared in all 36 matches, including five starts...also appeared in 111 games...averaged 4.60 assists and 1.52 digs per game...one of two setters on the team (Rose Burke), the Hornets employed a 6-2 offense the majority of the season...hit .278 with 21 kills and six errors in 54 attacks...had at least 20 assists on eight occasions...had a season-high 10 digs against Long Beach State and UC Davis...tallied a season-high 31 assists at Northern Colorado...had at least two kills against Portland State, Weber State, Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado.
High School
A 2006 graduate of Redlands East Valley High School in Redlands, Calif...competed in four years of volleyball and two years of track and field...a four-time Citrus Belt all-league selection as the team’s setter, including a member of the first team each of her final three years...led the Wildcats to a pair of league championships (2003, 2005)...in 2005, she led the team to a 27-3 overall record and a 14-0 conference mark...that season, she had 77 kills, 128 digs, 660 assists and 54 service aces while leading the Wildcats to victories in 20 of their last 21 matches before falling in the Southern Section playoffs to Long Beach Poly High School...recipient of numerous academic awards, including being named a member of the National Honor Society.

Born May 31, 1988...parents are Gene and Carol Melcher...a sociology major with a 3.67 gpa...sister, Natalie, played three years for Sacramento State (2002-05, redshirt in 2003)...played club volleyball for Rancho Valley (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) from 1998-05...member of the 18-under team that place first in the SCVA and second at the Volleyball Festival in 2005...seven of her teammates from Rancho Valley are currently playing Div. I volleyball.
