Played sparingly (eight matches, nine sets) after suffering an ankle injury early in the season...appeared in the first two matches of the season, and missed the next 19 with the injury...played in six of the team’s final 13 matches...season highs in kills (2) and digs (4) came at Northern Colorado.
Appeared in 22 matches, including 44 sets and one start...would have played more, but was battling an abdominal injury a good portion of the season...averaged 1.27 kills, 0.27 digs and 0.25 blocks per set...had double figures in kills twice, including 13 at Texas State, and 10 at UC Davis...had four kills, no errors and a .571 hitting percentage against Montana State...one of eight Hornets named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team.
Took a redshirt during her first intercollegiate season.
A 2007 graduate of Golden Sierra High School in Garden Valley, Calif...a four-year starter for the Grizzlies, Crowton played both the outside and middle hitter positions...a four time all-league selection (first team her final two seasons), she helped lead Golden Sierra to four straight Golden Empire League championships, including a combined 129-0 league record...that run included a pair of Nor Cal championships and state runner-up finishes in 2003 and 2004...as a senior, she averaged 8.4 kills, 7.6 digs, 1.4 aces and 1.2 blocks per set while hitting .342...her 370 total kills were the fifth best mark in the Sac-Joaquin section...finished second in the section as a sophomore with 466 kills.
Born June 3, 1989...parents are Robin and Jennifer Crowton...an economics major...played for Gold Cal Juniors Club in the summer of 2007, which was coached by former Sacramento State players Carissa Buie and Kristin Lutes...also played for Gold Cal in the summer of 2006 with current Hornet rightside hitter Anna Schoener...that team was coached by current Hornet head coach Ruben Volta, and placed 11th at the Junior Nationals.
