COLBERG MAKES RETURN TO SIDELINES IN SATURDAY’S VOLLEYBALL ALUMNI MATCH

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Former Hornet and Hall of Fame head coach Debby Colberg will make her return to the sideline this Saturday, Oct. 25, when she coaches the Sacramento State volleyball alumni team against the 2008 Hornet squad at 6 p.m. on Colberg Court.
Colberg will guide a star-packed alumni lineup of 16 players that combined to accumulate 60 Big Sky Conference championships, 22 all-conference awards, and three conference MVP accolades.
The alumni team will be comprised of setters Natalie Melcher and Stephanie Gamst, outside hitters Sandra Bandimere, (current assistant coach) Sarah Chlebana, Shannon Roland and Kelly Voeltz Bogetti, middle hitters Lindsay Haupt, Tasman Dwyer and Rebekah Capel, rightside hitters Kazmiera Imrie, Shannon Arts, Alison Gahr Osterhout and Leah Klemenhagen, and defensive specialists Kristin Lutes, Mallory Hook and Zara Budenbender.
First-year head coach Ruben Volta will coach the 2008 squad, which has won five of its last seven matches and is currently enjoying its only bye week of the season.
Sacramento State, which has finished first or second in the Big Sky standings every year since joining the league in 1996, is currently in a four-way tie for second place with a 5-3 conference record.
