SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento State athletics department announced today that it will provide live audio for each of the five matches at this week’s Big Sky Conference Volleyball Tournament (Nov. 16-18 at the Hornets Nest).
Each match can be accessed by clicking on www.hornetsports.com/audio and scrolling down to the volleyball schedule. Listeners will need QuickTime to access the audio. Live video of each match will be made available for a fee on www.bigskytv.org.
Thursday’s Big Sky Tournament Quarterfinal matches features No. 3 seed Eastern Washington taking on No. 6 Weber State at 5 p.m., and No. 4 Montana vs. No. 5 Northern Colorado at 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, Nov. 17, the Big Sky Tournament Semifinals will feature No. 2 Portland State and the highest remaining seed playing at 5:00 p.m., and tournament host Sacramento State taking on the lowest remaining seed at 7:30 p.m. Sacramento State earned the right to host the Big Sky Tournament after winning the conference’s regular season championship with a 28-5 overall record and a 15-1 league mark.
The championship match will be played on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7:00 p.m. All five matches will take place inside the Hornets Nest, located on the Sacramento State campus. Brian Berger, who has served as the play-by-play announcer for Hornet volleyball each of the last four years, will call all the action during the tournament.
The winner of the Big Sky Tournament receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament (which begins Nov. 30), a place the Hornets have been eight times in the last nine years.
