In honor of the 25th anniversary of the volleyball squad’s 1980 national championship season, the department of athletics is honoring both the 1980 and 1981 squads (also national champions) at a Sept. 23 banquet.In our efforts to contact the members of those two teams, we have been unable to find an address or phone number for Carrie “Bambi” Tennell. The two national championship teams will be honored over two days of activities. The weekend will begin with a reunion banquet in which both squads will be inducted into the Sacramento State Athletics Hall of Fame.
The event, which is scheduled to take place on Friday evening, Sept. 23, at the Sacramento Alumni Center, costs $40 and the public is invited to attend.
