A total of six Sacramento State players tallied at least one block as the team held Portland State to a .137 hitting percentage. The Hornets, who moved to 18-10 overall and 9-2 in the Big Sky, are now 15-0 when holding an opponent to a hitting percentage below .200. Sacramento State remains two games back of first-place Eastern Washington in the conference standings as the Eagles defeated Northern Arizona, 3-1, in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Portland State, which has now lost to the Hornets 21-straight times, dropped to 13-11 and 2-9 in the conference. The Vikings committed 16 service errors, including five from Sarah Leenders and four from Richell Wilson. Sacramento State led Portland State in every statistical category, including a 74-66 advantage in digs.

Wilson and Imrie paced the Hornets with 15 kills apiece while junior Sandra Bandimere chipped in 13 to round out the Hornets in double-figure kills. Wilson’s 15 kills accompanied a season-high .600 hitting percentage as the Vacaville, Calif., native had zero errors in 25 total attacks. Imrie hit .483, recording just one attack error in 29 total attacks.

Arts continued her recent dominance at the net as the Valdez, Alaska, native is averaging 1.61 blocks per game over her last six matches. Arts, who also had eight kills, has 37 blocks over that span after tallying 43 blocks during her first 21 matches of the season.

Hornet freshman Kristin Lutes led all players with 23 digs (5.75 per game) as the Kent, Wash., native has at least 14 digs in three-straight contests.

Portland State was led by Jessica Vanzant (team-high 17 kills), Wilson (15 kills), Kathy Garbacz (11 kills) and Leenders (team-high 17 digs).

Sacramento State concludes its home portion of the schedule this Saturday, Nov. 8, against Eastern Washington at 1 p.m. Seniors Lisa Beauchene and Imrie will be honored for their contributions to the program prior to the match. The Hornets have just four matches (three conference contests) left on the regular-season schedule.
