KAPSHAI NAMED BIG SKY WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tatsiana Kapshai was recognized by the conference after a pair of wins over the weekend.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State's Tatsiana Kapshai was named the Big Sky Conference's Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Kapshai swept her competition over the weekend as the No. 50 ranked Hornets defeated Nevada, 5-2, on Friday and then-No. 40 ranked Saint Mary’s, 4-3, on Sunday. The junior from Minsk, Belarus played at No. 1 singles and doubles in both matches.
Against Nevada, Kapshai knocked off Emma Verbane 6-3, 6-1 after pairing with Rebeca Delgado to win 8-3 in doubles play.
In an upset victory over Saint Mary’s, Kapshai tallied a point for the Hornets in a narrow dual match win. The No. 77 ranked Kapshai defeated No. 85 Alex Poorta 7-6 (4), 6-1. Kapshai teammed up with Delgado, again, for a win at No. 1 doubles.
Kapshai, the conference's MVP in 2010, was named Big Sky Women's Tennis Player of the Week once last season.
