2018 Season Named second team all-Big Sky Conference…became just the third freshman in program history to be named all-Big Sky…coincidentally, it was two other Hornet setters that were also named second team all-Big Sky as freshmen - Lisa Beauchene (2000) and Maureen Rafferty (1996)…both Beauchene and Rafferty are in the Sacramento State Volleyball Hall of Fame…started all 29 matches in which she appeared at setter…played with a knee injury the majority of the season, an injury that kept her out of three matches in mid-September…averaged 0.86 kills, 10.32 assists, 2.21 digs, 0.32 aces and 0.81 blocks per set while hitting .249…ranked fifth in the Big Sky in assists, and 10th in aces…bumped those numbers to 10.92 assists, 2.39 digs and 0.84 blocks per set to go with a .277 hitting percentage in league play…named both the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week and Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 1…posted double figures in digs on 10 occasions, and finished with 10 double-doubles…had 19 matches with at least three blocks, and went over 50 assists on 10 occasions…narrowly missed a pair of triple-doubles vs. Arizona (7 kills, 10 digs, 28 assists) and McNeese State (7 kills, 12 digs, 37 assists)…season-high 55 assists came against Seattle and season-best 13 digs vs. Idaho…her total of 1,146 assists ranked as the 70th best mark in the nation.
2017 Season Took a redshirt and did not play during the season.
High School A 2017 graduate of Chiawana High School in Pasco, Wash…played four years of varsity volleyball for the Riverhawks…a two-time first team all-4A Mid-Columbia selection, Olin was named the co-league MVP as a senior after leading the Riverhawks to an 8-4 league record and a No. 2 seed at the 4A Regional playoffs…as a junior in 2015, she was a first team all-league selection and helped the team to a 16-6 overall record and a second place finishing 12-2 mark in league…served as the team captain each of her final two seasons…voted the team’s most inspirational player as a junior…a scholar-athlete, Olin had a 3.8 grade point average in high school and ranked among the top 10 percent of her class.
Personal Parents are Dean and Sandra Olin…a kinesiology major…played three years of club volleyball for the Columbia Juniors out of Pasco…as a setter, she ran a 5-1 offense in high school and 6-2 offense in club…her mother, Sandra, was a middle blocker at the University of Portland in 1990 and 1991.
