2017 Season Started all 36 matches as the team’s libero while also playing in each of the team’s 146 sets…finished the season with 637 digs, the most in the Big Sky Conference and the 13th best mark in the nation…the 637 digs also ranked as the fifth best mark in Sacramento State single-season history and sixth best in Big Sky history…finished season with an average of 4.36 digs per set while posting double figures in digs in all but three matches…had at least eight digs in every match…had a team-high .967 service reception percentage…had just 15 reception errors in 449 serves sent her way…named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11…an all-tournament selection at the NKU Invitational…had a career-best 38 digs in a win over Bowling Green, tied for the third best single-match mark in program history…had at least 20 digs on 14 occasions…also had a total of 86 assists and 20 aces during the year…finished career with 1,164 digs, or an average of 2.66 per set…the Hornets improved their conference record every season of her career, culminating in a 15-1 league mark and a Big Sky regular season championship.
2016 Season Played in 30 matches, including 107 sets at defensive specialist…finished the season with an average of 1.58 digs per set…recorded double figures in digs on three occasions, including 13 vs. both Cal State Northridge and North Dakota, and 12 against Montana…committed just 13 reception errors in 272 serves sent her way, good for a .952 success rate…had at least seven digs in 12 different matches…posted nine digs against Idaho State and UT Arlington.
2015 Season Appeared in 21 matches, including 72 sets and 12 starts at defensive specialist…averaged 1.90 digs per set, the fifth best mark on the team…recorded double figures in digs on four occasions, including two of the final three matches of the year…season high of 14 digs came in the regular season finale at Southern Utah…also had 13 digs at North Dakota, 12 digs at Idaho State and 11 digs vs. Northern Colorado…raised her average to 2.30 digs per set on the road, the fourth best mark on the team.
2014 Season Appeared in 30 matches, including four starts and 113 total sets played at defensive specialist…played six matches as the team’s libero…finished the season with 1.96 digs pet and 221 total digs…the 221 digs were the fourth highest mark on the team…had double figures in digs on nine occasions, including a season-best 24 at Northern Arizona…had 15 digs vs. Weber State, 14 at Portland State, and 13 vs. both George Washington and on the road at Northern Arizona…in her six matches at libero, Murdock averaged 3.05 digs per set.
High School A 2014 graduate of Reno High School in Reno, Nev…played three sports for the Huskies, including four years of volleyball, two seasons of basketball and one year of softball…in volleyball, she received all-High Desert League recognition twice, including second team as a senior and honorable mention during her junior season…spent each of her final three years on the varsity squad…selected by teammates as the Huskies’ team captain in 2013 and 2014…had 69 digs in the 2014 Div. I Northern Regional semifinal match against Spanish Springs High School…overall, she averaged 17 digs per match during her senior season.
Personal Parents are Rick and Thea Murdock…a communication studies major who is on pace to graduate in the spring of 2018…played club for the Northern Nevada Juniors in Sparks, Nev., where she was teammates with fellow Hornet Hannah Meadows.
