Middle blocker Kelsey Elston, who played from 2008-11, is one of 11 former players slated to play in the Alumni Match.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Current and former Hornets will square off at Sacramento State's annual volleyball alumni match this Saturday, Aug. 24, inside the Hornets Nest.

The match, which begins at 11 a.m. and is free to the public, will showcase the current Hornet squad taking on former Sacramento State players.

The alumni team will be comprised of 11 players, including current assistant coach Sarah Chlebana (1997-00), Kristi Lambert (1997-00), Jackie Coudert (2004), Chara DeLoney (2007), Michelle Franz (2005-07), Desiree Hoyum (2006-09), Janelle Currey (2009-12), Eryn Kirby (2008-11), Kelsey Elston (2008-11), Anna Schoener (2006-11) and Sydney Kordic (2009-12).

The current team is just eight days away from the start of the regular season where the Hornets will play at a two-day, four-match tournament in Philadelphia. Sacramento State will take on both Bucknell and Lafayette on Saturday, Aug. 31, before facing Fairleigh Dickinson and tournament host La Salle on Saturday, Sept. 1.

NOTES -- Alumni players are asked to be at the court by 10 a.m. Shirts and knee pads will be provided.
