WOMEN'S TENNIS STAYS PERFECT IN LEAGUE PLAY, SWEEPS MONTANA AND MONTANA STATE

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The No. 59 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team remained unbeaten in Big Sky Conference play this season with wins over Montana and Montana State on Saturday in the Treasure State.

The Hornets (12-9, 6-0 Big Sky) defeated Montana 5-2 on Saturday morning before winning 7-0 at Montana State. The wins improved Sacramento State to an amazing 89-0 in Big Sky Conference dual matches over the last 11 years, including both the regular season and conference tournament play. The Hornets have just one league dual left this season, at Northern Colorado on April 15, before hosting the conference tournament at the Spare Time Indoor TC on April 21-22.

Against Montana, senior Tatsiana Kapshai gave up just one point in a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. She also combined with Rebeca Delgado to win 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. In addition to No. 1 singles, the Hornets won at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5.

While the Grizzlies managed to win two singles matches on Saturday, it was a clean sweep for the Hornets at Montana State.

The Hornets won all but No. 3 singles in straight sets, including 6-0, 6-0 wins by Maria Meliuk and Andrea Gomez Carus at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Sacramento State was a perfect 6-0 in doubles play against both Montana and Montana State.
