TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 71 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at No. 29 ranked Arizona on Saturday afternoon at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
The Hornets (7-5) are now 1-4 against Pac-12 schools this season after playing Washington, Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State and USC while each one of their five loses have come against top-50 teams.
Sacramento State captured the No. 1 doubles match behind Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado's strong play but the Wildcats won each of the other two matches to earn the doubles point.
In singles play, Arizona stook matches 1-4 while the Hornets won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Katharina Knoebl (7-5, 7-6) and Maria Meliuk (6-3, 6-2) each won in straight sets.
Sacramento State continues its Grand Canyon State swing on Sunday with a Big Sky Conference match at Northern Arizona.
