WOMEN'S TENNIS WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT, DEFEATS NO. 38 GEORGIA STATE

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The No. 43 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team knocked off its first nationally ranked foe en route to their sixth straight victory with a 5-2 win against No. 38 rated Georgia State at the Rio Del Oro RC.
The Hornets (7-3) were winless in their previous three matches against ranked opponents (No. 16 USC, No. 28 Washington and No. 45 Texas Tech) but got off the schneid versus the Panthers (4-3).
Kapshai lost a tough match at No. 1 singles against No. 58 ranked Abigail Tere-Apisah but Baca and Delgado won in straight sets. The match was decided at the end of the singles line-up, where Katharina Knoebl and Meliuk won their matches in three-set battles to claim victory.
Up next for the Hornets is a road trip to the Grand Canyon State. Sacramento State will play at No. 33 Arizona, No. 21 Arizona State and Big Sky Conference foe Northern Arizona this weekend.
