LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the dual match season on Monday afternoon, 4-0, at No. 5 ranked UCLA. The No. 56 ranked Hornets fall to 1-1 on the season while the Bruins improve to 4-0.
Sacramento State kept it close in a hard-fought doubles compeition, but UCLA would manage to pull out the point. Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado lost narrowly at No. 1 doubles, 9-7, after Katharina Knoebl and Sophie Lohscheidt fell, 9-8, at No. 3 doubles.
With a one point edge in the team score, UCLA won the first three singles matches that finished and the Bruins took home the dual match victory. The singles matches at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 were unfinished as UCLA already had the four team points needed to win the dual.
