WOMEN'S TENNIS SCORCHES NAU, STAYS UNDEFEATED IN BIG SKY CONFERENCE PLAY

Maria Meliuk blanked her second straight conference opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 win vs. NAU.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The No. 46 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team remained perfect in Big Sky Conference play with a, 6-1, dual match win over Northern Arizona on Sunday at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.

The Hornets improve to 11-7 (4-0 Big Sky) with the win while the Lumberjacks fall to 7-8 (2-1) after suffering their first conference loss of the season.

Sacramento State is now in sole possession of first place in the Big Sky Conference after dealing league losses to second place Montana and third place NAU on back-to-back days.

The Hornets lost thier first set loss in league play against NAU, who won at No. 6 singles. Sacramento State is now an amazing 35-1 in both singles and doubles matches, combined, during four conference duals.

The No. 68 ranked doubles tandem of Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado improved to 9-4 on the season with a win at No. 1 doubles against NAU's Edit Suhajda and Orsi Golovics.

Kapshai and Delgado also both won in the singles play but not by as wide a margin as Maria Meliuk. Meliuk won her second straight 6-0, 6-0 singles match in conference play on Sunday. Meliuk is now 5-2 in her last seven overall singles matches and is 7-1 in her last eight doubles matches with another win versus NAU.

Sacramento State will play at Washington and at conference foe Eastern Washington next weekend.
