SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 42 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team lost a dual match, 5-2, with No. 62 ranked San Diego State on Saturday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The Hornets dropped to 8-6 on the season while the Aztecs' record also sits at 8-6 following their win.
San Diego State started off the match by taking the doubles point by winning at both No. 1 and No. 3. Sacramento State's tandem of Maria Meliuk and Clarisse Baca defeated SDSU's No. 54 ranked doubles team of Julia Wais and Alicia Aguilar, 8-5, at No. 2.
In singles play the Aztecs won at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5.
Baca and Katharina Knoebl won for the Hornets at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Sacramento State will stay in San Diego to play the University of San Diego Torreros tomorrow.
