Katharina Knoebl moved to 6-3 on the season with a win at Arizona.
TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 29 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team lost, 6-1, to No. 29 ranked Arizona on Monday afternoon in a non-conference dual match at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
The Hornets fall to 6-5 (1-0 Big Sky) on the season while the Wildcats improve to 13-2 (2-0 Pac-10) with the win.
Sacramento State earned a win at No. 2 doubles but lost at No. 3. The doubles point was decided at No. 1 where Arizona's No. 67 ranked tandem of Sarah Landsman and Natasha Marks pulled out an 8-6 win over Sacramento State's No. 45 ranked duo of Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado.
Clarisse Baca and Maria Meliuk's win at No. 2 doubles was the their eighth of the season. They improved to a team-best 8-2 in doubles play.
Kapshai, still feeling the effects of a sprained ankle, did not compete in singles.
Arizona nearly swept the singles portion but Katharina Knoebl pulled out a win a 6-3, 6-1 win versus June Huh at No. 5.
Knoebl, a freshman, pushed her individual singles record to 6-3 this season - 4-2 at No. 5.
The Hornets will host Northern Colorado in a Big Sky Conference match at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Rio Del Oro RC.
