WOMEN'S TENNIS SLIPS UP AT LONG BEACH STATE

Clarisse Baca won both her singles and doubles matches but the Hornets lost at LBSU.

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The No. 29 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team lost a non-conference dual match with No. 61 ranked Long Beach State, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Rhodes Tennis Center.

The Hornets slide to 6-4 (1-0 Big Sky Conference) while LBSU improves to 9-3.

Sacramento State started strong, taking a pair of doubles matches. The No. 45 ranked tandem of Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado won 8-2 at No. 1 while Clarisse Baca and Maria Meliuk won at No. 2.

But the 49ers rebounded in singles action, taking five of the six matches. Baca won at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-4, versus LBSU's Jaklin Alawi for the Hornets' lone singles win.

Sacramento State will stay on the road for a Monday afternoon match with No. 28 ranked Arizona.
