BERKELEY, Calif. - The No. 31 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 4 ranked California on Friday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
The Hornets fall to 6-2 on the season while the Golden Bears improve to 10-1.
Sacramento State had the services of Tatsiana Kapshai on Friday for the first time in two matches since the standout injured her ankle in practice. But Kapshai only played doubles against the Bears, falling 8-2 with Rebeca Delgado at No. 1 against the No. 4 ranked doubles team in the nation, Mari Andersson and Jana Juricova.
Juricova is also rated the No. 4 singles player in the nation and defeated Delgado in straight sets at No. 1 singles.
The Hornets pulled out a point at No. 6 singles when Milica Zivanovic defeated Stephany Chang, 7-5, 6-2.
Sacramento State will be in action next Friday at UC Irvine and has its next three dual matches on the road.
