Maria Meliuk won in straight sets against both Montana State and USF on Saturday.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's tennis team cruised to a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon over Big Sky Conference foe Montana State, 7-0, and San Francisco, 6-1, at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Club.

The Hornets swept the Bobcats in their first conference dual of the season. Clarisse Baca, Maria Meliuk and Rebeca Delgado all won in straight sets at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles, respectively.

It took a little longer lower in the lineup but Sophie Lohscheidt won at No. 4 singles, Katharina Knoebl pulled it out at No. 5 singles and Milica Zivanovic also won at No. 6 singles.

It was the same story in doubles play, as the Hornets swept all three matches.

Against San Francisco it was nearly another Hornet sweep save for the Dons getting a win at No. 4 singles. Baca and Meliuk won in straight sets once again while Knoebl and Zivanovic battled to wins in their second three-set matches of the day.

The Hornets won all three singles matches against the Dons as well.
