WOMEN'S TENNIS UPSETS SAINT MARY'S

Rebeca Delgado won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles in a dual match win against Saint Mary's

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The No. 49 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team defeated No. 40 ranked Saint Mary's, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.

The Hornets swept through doubles play to start the dual match to earn the doubles point, which proved to be crucial in the match as both teams won three singles matches apeice.

Sacramento State, behind wins from Tatsiana Kapshai, Rebeca Delgado and Katharina Knoebl, won at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles.

Saint Mary's earned wins at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

The Hornets improved to 3-1 with the victory as they have knocked off Pepperdine, Nevada and now Saint Mary's this season. Both Pepperdine and Saint Mary's were higher ranked. Sacramento State's only loss of the season was to No. 5 ranked UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif.
