Sacramento State competed six players, comprised of senior Cecilia Helland, sophomores Karina Jarlkaganova, Anastassia Lyssenko, Joyce Martinez Gutierrez and Luba Schifris, and freshman Aileen Tsan. Lyssenko competed in just the doubles draw while the other players competed in both singles and doubles play.

Martinez Gutierrez went the furthest in the main draw of the singles bracket, advancing to the round of 64, before falling to Cal’s Nina Henkel. Both Schifris and Jarlkaganova reached the consolation semifinals, but play was halted Sunday evening and was not continued into Monday for the consolation bracket. Combining singles matches from both the main draw and consolation rounds, both Schifris and Jarlkaganova finished with 3-1 records, while Tsan was 2-2, Martinez Gutierrez 1-1 and Helland 1-2.

In doubles play, the team of Tsan and Lyssenko reached the round of 16 before falling to a tandem from Stanford. Schifris and Martinez Gutierrez reached round two of the consolation bracket, but Martinez Gutierrez had to withdraw because of a strained shoulder.

The ITA Northwest Regional marks the final fall tournament of the season for Sacramento State, as the team does not play again until competing in a tournament in Maui on Jan. 12-14.
