SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Clarisse Baca was named the Big Sky Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her sterling performance in Sacamento State's wins at Weber State and Idaho State, the league announced on Wednesday.

It is the third player of the week honors for the Hornets this season, as Maria Meliuk and Tatsiana Kapshai had previously earned the award.

Baca went 2-0 on Sunday in a doubleheader against Big Sky foes Weber State and Idaho State. Baca defeated the Wildcats’ Michelle Warwick 6-0, 6-1, then followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory later that day over Idaho State’s Laura Porras. Baca also went undefeated in doubles play, pairing up with Meliuk to claim an 8-1 victory over Weber State and an 8-0 sweep of Idaho State.

The junior from Chihuahua, Mexico, is currently on an eight-match winning streak and has a 16-6 record this season. Baca is undefeated in conference play in both singles and doubles. Her overall singles and doubles records are the Hornets' best marks.
