WOMEN'S TENNIS NARROWLY EDGED, 4-3, AT NO. 25 WASHINGTON

Sophie Lohscheidt won at No. 5 singles, but the Hornets lost 4-3 at Washington.
SEATTLE, Wash. - With the match knotted up 3-3, the dual between the No. 46 Sacramento State women's tennis team and No. 25 ranked Washington came down to No. 3 singles, where the Huskies pulled out a narrow win to clinch the 4-3 victory.
The Hornets drop to 11-8 on the season and are now 4-7 against nationally ranked foes but are a perfect 4-0 in conference matches. Big Sky Conference play resumes tomorrow, as Sacramento State meets Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash.
The Huskies improve to 12-8 on the year.
Washington swept doubles play, putting Sacramento State in a 1-0 hole entering singles play.
The Huskies continued to roll early in singles, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 in straight sets to go up 3-0. But the Hornets rallied with wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to tie up the match.
But Washington's Samantha Smith pulled out a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 3 to earn the win for the Huskies.
