SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 42 ranked Sacramento State women's tennis team dropped a road dual match at No. 25 ranked San Diego, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at the Hogan Tennis Center.
Sacramento State slides to 8-7 on the season while USD improves to 9-4.
The Hornets started off with a solid win at No. 1 doubles play behind Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado but the Toreros stormed back to win the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles play, Delgado and Katharina Knoebl won at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively, but USD won the remaining matches to pull out the 5-2 dual match win. Maja Sujica retired in the third set at No. 6 singles to give Knoebl the win.
Sacramento State's next match is at rival UC Davis on Saturday.
