KAPSHAI NAMED BIG SKY WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

OGDEN, Utah - Sacramento State sophomore Tatsiana Kapshai has been named the Big Sky Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending March 30.
Kapshai led the Hornets to a perfect 5-0 record this past week, which included four victories over Big Sky competition. Playing No. 1 singles, the Minsk, Belarus native was a perfect 5-0, winning all conference matches in straight sets.
In a Sunday doubleheader against Idaho State and Weber State, Kapshai did not lose a game on the day, winning both singles matches she played by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
She also posted a 5-0 record at the No. 1 doubles position, which included a 4-0 mark with her regular partner, freshman Rebeca Delgado, and a 1-0 mark with freshman Gayane Sarkisian.
On the season, Kapshai is 15-6 in singles action, and has won her last seven matches. She is 8-2 in her last 10 matches, which have all been contested at the No. 1 position. She earned the Big Sky's weekly honor for the first time in her career, and was the fifth Hornet to earn the award this season.
No. 51 Sacramento State returns to action on April 16 as they travel to Tucson to face No. 53 Arizona at 12:30 p.m.
