With the victory, Sacramento State won for the fifth time in its last six matches while improving to 9-4 overall and 1-0 in the Big Sky. The Hornets, who were playing their first conference match of the season, also won their 63rd-consecutive match against a Big Sky opponent dating back to 2002.

Sacramento State, which is ranked 43rd in the nation, had little trouble with the Vikings. In fact, the Hornets’ six singles players combined to drop just 12 games all afternoon. The “closest” score of the day came at No. 1 where Kapshai defeated Anya Dalking by a score of 6-3, 6-1.
Tsan has now won eight straight singles matches, while Delgado improved her winning streak to six. Sacramento State was playing today’s match without the services of Katrina Zheltova and Maria Meliuk.
Delgado (6-0, 6-2), Baca (6-0, 6-1), Tsan (6-2, 6-1), Nazarova (6-0, 6-1) and Zivanovic (6-1, 6-0) also won in easy fashion.
Sacramento State began the match by sweeping the doubles points as the tandems of Kapshai/Tsan, Delgado/Baca, and Zivanovic/Nazarova were each victorious.
The Hornets do not play again until traveling to Berkeley on March 19, to take on eighth-ranked Cal at 1:30 p.m.
