Zheltova advanced to the round of 16 last season at the championship, earning All-American status as one of the top 16 players in the country. She defeated Furman’s Laura Gioia in three sets (1-6, 6-3, 6-4) in round one last year before upsetting ninth ranked Sanaz Marand of North Carolina, 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-4 in round two.

In the 2007 tournament, she upset 24th ranked Vanja Corovic of Texas in the first round, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.

She earned an automatic bid into the 2009 championship by being the lone Big Sky competitor ranked in the top 125 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in their latest singles rankings.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 20-25 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas, following the conclusion of the team championship (May 15-19). Seedings and pairings will be announced at a later date.
