ZHELTOVA NAMED BIG SKY PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME THIS SEASON

OGDEN, Utah - Sacramento State's Katrina Zheltova was named the Big Sky Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the second for Zheltova this season and the sixth of her career.

Zheltova upset No. 46 ranked Danielle Steinberg of Arizona, in leading the No. 59 ranked Hornets to a 5-1 victory over the No. 39 ranked Wildcats. Zheltova, ranked No. 63 nationally, defeated Steinberg 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in her only match of the day, as doubles was not contested due to weather.

One day prior, in the Hornets conference opener against Northern Arizona, Zheltova defeated Edit Suhajda in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, to help enable the Hornets to score a 4-3 victory over the Lumberjacks.

With the two victories, Sacramento State improved to 6-1 on the season. Zheltova, a sophomore out of Minsk, Belarus, is now 4-3 during the spring dual season, and 2-1 against nationally ranked foes.

The Hornets return to action this weekend as they travel to Southern California to take on San Diego on Sat., Feb. 23 in their lone match of the weekend. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
