The Hornets took the doubles point to start things off with senior Margarita Karnaukhova and freshman Anastassia Lyssenko teaming to defeat the Lumberjacks’ Paij Porter and Katie Schurr 8-3 in the No. 1 spot. Freshman Svetlana Pimenova and junior Cecilia Helland then earned an 8-6 victory over Stacey Pinchbeck and Georgie Mills in the No. 3 spot.

Karnaukhova then earned her second victory of the afternoon in the No. 1 singles spot, defeating Northern Arizona’s Susan McClelland 6-0, 6-0.

Sacramento State took four of the six singles matches from the Lumberjacks, with freshman Karina Jarlkaganova winning 6-4, 6-3 in the No.2 spot and Helland earning a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Porter in the No. 4 spot.

Pimenova was victorious in the No. 6 spot, with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Regan Newman, while in the No. 5 spot, Lyssenko withdrew after suffering an ankle injury.

Sacramento State is now 3-3 and will next play Loyola Marymount on Tuesday with a 2:30 p.m. start at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.
