Sacramento State opened the day by winning the doubles matches at the one and two to claim the point. The match at the three was stopped due to the Hornets capturing the point. At the one, junior Margarita Karnaukhova and sophomore Anna Karaveyeva defeated Annabelle Janairo and Mari Castello, 8-2. At the two, sophomore Anna Erikson and freshman Klara Petersson defeated Malena Rosen and Cheyne Ursich, 8-3. Senior Roberta Fessenko and sophomore Cecilia Helland were leading 7-3 over Jonna Schwartz and Lindsay Torgerson when the Hornets clinched the doubles point.

In singles, Erikson, ranked No. 105 in the nation, defeated Ursich at the one, 6-0, 6-1 to claim the second point. At the six, senior Cristina Rivieccio defeated Rosen 6-1, 6-1. At the five, Karaveyeva defeated Schwartz to clinch the match, 6-1, 6-4.

Sacramento State will face second-seed Weber State in the Big Sky Championship tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Wildcats defeated fourth-seed Montana State, 4-3 in the other semifinal today. The Hornets will be looking to capture their fourth-straight Big Sky title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
