NO. 28 WOMEN’S TENNIS TEAM DISMANTLES MONTANA STAE, 7-0

BOZEMAN, Mont. ---The No. 28 Sacramento State women’s tennis team defeated Big Sky Conference opponent Montana State, 7-0, Sunday morning in Bozeman Montana to give the Hornets a league leading conference record of, 5-0.

The Hornets overall record improves to 20-3 on the season. Montana State falls to 1-5 in conference play and 4-14 overall.

The Hornets took all six singles matches from the Bobcats. Playing in the number one position, No. 78 Margarita Karnaukhova defeated Vera Vasileva. In the second position, No. 42 Anna Erikson defeated Laurel Brown. No. 100 Roberta Fessenko, playing in the third position defeated Katy Clarke. In the fourth position, Marta Gronowicz defeated Ivette Duran. In the fifth position, Cecilia Helland defeated Remy Clark, and in the sixth position Amanda Sanches defeated Anna Hockett.

The Hornets won the doubles point by taking three of three doubles matches from The Bobcats.

Sacramento State will next host Idaho State next Saturday at the Rio Del Oro tennis club. It will be the Hornets final conference game and regular season game. The Hornets will then attend The Big Sky Conference championship that will be held April 29- May 2, in Ogden Utah
