The Hornets set the stage for the upset by taking the doubles point after winning two of three doubles matches from Fresno State. Anna Erikson and Ann Roslund won their match, while the duo of Cecilia Helland and Roberta Fessenko defeated Courtney Jantz and Nicole Sherfield. The doubles loss was just the third for the Bulldogs in the their last 30 matches.

The Hornets took five of six singles matches from the Bulldogs. No. 78 Margarita Karnaukhova handed a loss to No. 12 Jelena Pandzic, while playing in the number one position. Pandzic entered the match with an 18-0 singles record during the spring and was defeated just once in the fall.

Roberta Fessenko defeated Lucia Tallo playing in the second position. Playing in the third spot, No. 42 Anna Erikson beat Katharina Winterhalter. In the fourth position, Marta Gronowicz was awarded a victory after Kelly Leathers withdrew due to illness. In the fifth position, Ann Roslund defeated Lucia Sainz.

The Hornets will next travel to Misoula, Mont., on April 17 to face Big Sky Conference opponent Montana at 10 am.
