SACRAMENTO, Calif. ---The Sacramento State women’s tennis team defeated Big Sky Conference opponent Eastern Washington, 7-0, Saturday morning at the Rio Del Oro tennis club. The victory is the eleventh straight for the Hornets, whose record improves to 16-3 on the season and 3-0 in Conference play. Eastern Washington drops to 0-11 overall.The Hornets took all six singles matches from the Eagles. Playing in the number one position, No. 78 Margarita Karnaukhova defeated Kim Cabiling. In second position, Marta Gronowicz defeated Jen Jolley. No. 100 Roberta Fessenko, playing in the third position defeated Marie Carroll. In the fourth position, Cristina Rivieccio defeated Leanna Mehren. In the fifth position, Petra Abraham defeated Terri Sherrill, and in the sixth position Amanda Sanchez defeated Lesley Liddell.
The Hornets won the doubles point by taking three of three doubles matches from Eastern Washington.
The Hornets next face Santa Clara later today, in an afternoon match at the Rio Del Oro tennis club.
