Sacramento State opened the match by winning two of the three doubles matches. The Hornet duo of juniors Ann Roslund and Yasmin Kashef defeated Lani Matsunaga and Dada Joksimovic, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles. At the two, sophomores Roberta Fessenko and Amanda Sanches won their match over Dora Holdarova and Shakti Stream, 8-0. At the No. 3 spot, junior Petra Abraham and sophomore Cristina Rivieccio fell to the Sea Warrior duo of Bianca Baretto and Davelyn Godinet, 8-5.

In singles play, Fessenko won her match over Holdarova, 6-0, ret. Roslund defeated Matsunaga at No. 2 singles, 6-3, ret. At the No. 3 spot, Abraham won her match over Joksimovic, 6-3, 6-3. Sanches picked up a win at the four, as she defeated Baretto, 6-2, 6-0. Rivieccio defeated Godinet at the five, 6-4, 6-4. Kashef won her match over Stream at the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 6-2.

Sacramento State will return to action on Tuesday, April 15, as the team travels to Southern California to take on Loyola Marymount. First serve against the Lions is set for 9 a.m.
