HPU opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Hornet duo of freshmen Anders Albertsen and Jakub Sliva dropped a tough match to Mike Maatta and Gabor Jaross, 9-8, at No. 1 doubles. At the two, junior Nick Sheehan and sophomore Peter Farkas lost their match to Matey Pampulov and Sasa Pirc, 8-4. At the No. 3 spot, sophomore Matt Jones and freshman Lewis Van Splunteren fell to Stefan Pampulov and Jan Tribler, 8-5.

In singles play, Sheehan fell to Maatta, 6-1, 6-1. Jones was defeated by M. Pampulov at the No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3. At the No. 3 spot, Sliva lost his match to Jaross, 6-1, 6-1. Albertsen picked up the lone Hornet point, as he defeated Jurjec, 6-4, 7-6, at the four. Farkas lost his match to Tribler at the five, 6-2, 6-4. Van Splunteren lost a tough 7-6, 7-5 match to Pirc, at the No. 6 spot.

Sacramento State will return to action on Wednesday, April 16, hosts Pacific at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club. The match against the Tigers will be the final home match of the season. First serve against UOP is set for 2 p.m.
